Strange Old Letters

Yesterday Bry and I were doing a little Spring cleaning and we decided to go through some old boxes of cards and letters. We didn't realize that it was going to turn out to be an emotional roller coaster. When I was going through of my old Get Well cards from my jaw surgery. I found a card from Bry's grandma Betty, who passed a few years ago. We loved her very much and the whole family was rocked by her diagnosis of Lou Gehrigs disease. We didn't get to spend as much time with her as we would have liked, but she was one of those people who you could not see for 6 months and feel like you never parted ways.

Anyway, I found a card that she had written me and it had this beautiful poem inside. The card brought a little tear to my eye, but that's where the story gets strange. The wierd thing was that inside the card was a little hand written letter that I never remember reading. It read something like 'Dear Kris, I know that you are going through a very tough time right now. You should know that things will get better soon and you will get all that you hope for.' While she was obviously referring to my surgery it was so eery. With all of the tough stuff we are going through right now it felt as if she had found a way of getting a message to me when I needed one. All I could do was stand there and cry like a child. In that moment it was as if she was standing there with us, knowing how painful this all is and knowing exactly what to say to us. What a truly amazing gift.
