The embryologist called this morning to inform us that we lost one of our embies to poor division last night. So that leaves us with 5 healthy embryos. We have two 4-celled and three 2-celled. I am hoping that by tomorrow we will have at least two 8-celled. We plan to put three back and freeze the remaining two.
In preparation for the transfer I went today for a massage. I have never had one before and it was MAGNIFICANT. My massage therapist was a man, which put me off at first but he was such a professional. He is also a practitioner of Reiki, so he did some work to get my uterus all ready for those little ones. I am not a huge believer in mystical things, but at this point I will try anything. I found this online to describe Reiki:
"Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy"
It was overall a great experience. So between the Reiki, the massage, my kokopelli, prayers from friends and family members, at least we have all our bases covered.
