When you go for an Embryo Transfer at our clinic, before they get the process started, the embryologist comes in to talk to you and give you a picture of your embryos. For me it has always been a breathtaking site, for many reasons. 1. This could be our very first baby picture. 2. This is life, life that we created together. Something we have been unable to do, and 3. This could be the beginning of the rest of our lives.
Every time I look at this picture I can't help but wonder what it is like for those three tiny embryos floating around looking for a spot to settle down. I know they are only 8 celled (hopefully more by now) being that have no real thought process. It must be such a daunting task to have all that wide open, dark space to travel. I just pray that they find their own cozy spots where they will settle in for a nice long rest.
