As I have gone through the process of dealing with infertility I have had many an experience with "signs" in my world that I either was or was not pregnant. As a logical, level headed person I generally do not believe in signs. Yet, some days I can't help but let my brain wander there. Here is the latest sign we have experienced (and yes, I know how ridiculous this sounds).
We live on a lake, if you look out of our bedroom window you can see two lakes. For the three and a half years we have lived here we have been entertained by all kinds of wildlife... herons, cranes, turtles, fish, hawks, egrets, even a confused fox. Over the past two weeks we saw the arrival of a beautiful white crane. We both joked that it was our stork and he knew that we would need him soon. The more we joked, the more we both considered this a possible "sign." Well, then we noticed another. So we joked that it was a sign of twins on the way. I liked the idea of that, maybe it was a sign that we were getting two for the price of one.
Yesterday we were taking a walk and realized that there are now like 4 or 5 of these birds. So not only had it ruined my "stork" idea, I now also have to wonder if it is a sign to be careful not to put too many embies back in. Good thing I don't believe in signs. ;>)
