This afternoon we had our second ultrasound. Brian met me at the office and we were both a little nervous. The official word is WE HAVE TWO HEARTBEATS!! Little baby C is not going to make it, but we had a feeling that might happen. The docs warned us that spontaneous reduction was a very good likelihood, so we have been preparing ourselves for the possibility. So, when there was no fetal pole and no heartbeat, we knew. It is a little sad, but probably for the best.
Everything looks great with the twins though. Their heartbeats were good, Baby A was at 102 and Baby B at 124. They measured 3mm and 4mm. The yolk sacs were a good size, which is a good sign of no chromosomal abnormailities. They are giving us a 94% chance of both of them making it at this point
It is an amazing (and relieving) feeling to get to see that little heartbeat flicker. It just confirms that everything is ok. I go back in two weeks for a follow up ultrasound.

That's great about hearing the two heartbeats! That is so wonderful. I'm sorry to hear Baby C won't make it though, but it sounds like you are at peace with it.
soooo excited for you!! can't wait for my new cousins!! :-D
Congratulations!
I am sorry to hear about baby C, but 2 heartbeats is amazing!
Amazing! I also had 3 sacs & then "just" 2 heartbeats (after IVF-FET) My kids stuck around until 39 weeks, so not all twin pregnancies automatically mean you'll have preemies.
Awesome news about the 2 heartbeats, however I'm sorry about the 3rd :-(
