Yesterday was my very first OB appointment. I am seeing a High Risk OB that was recommended by my clinic. I had not met the doctor before yesterday. The office is in a brand new building, so it is very nice inside. The office staff were all nice and very accommodating. They took my BP (which has been high since the pregnancy and I have been taking meds for) and it was finally in the normal range. That was a relief, although they will be keeping an eye on it.
I liked the OB. She was very professional, not overly sweet, but nice enough. She is considered very good at working with multiples, so I feel like I am in good hands. We went over the infertility history, tests I have had done, procedures, etc. So that part took a while. She explained some of the risks of having twins, but made sure to say that at my age I should be able to make it close to term. She outlined the risks without scaring the hell out of me, which was great. She also explained that I will be seeing a perinatologist throughout the whole pregnancy, both because of losing the third baby and because of the twins. They will do more ultrasounds and stress tests than in a normal pregnancy.
I see the perinatologist in a week and a half and go back to the OB in three weeks. I was a little disappointed that they didn't do a u/s or check the heartbeat on doppler yesterday, but I have gotten spoiled by all the ultrasounds at the clinic. I guess I will have to learn to be more patient.

Patience my friend! ;)
It's too early yet to probably hear the HB's on a doppler. To have the doc search for them and not find anything is incredibly nerve wracking. That's why most OB's won't even check for them until your 14-16 week appt. As for the u/s, I'm sure you'll have one next week w/ the peri.
I'm glad your appt went well and you liked the OB. Hopefully she will continue to be a good fit for you.
