The Tots

Despite ordering a doppler and then canceling said doppler (because my older sis has access to one through work) they sent us the doppler anyway. We have been deliberating whether to keep it for the next couple months or cancel it. We decided that we might as well keep it since we can record directly from the machine.

Last night we decided to take the doppler out of the packaging and play around with it. It was cool because it comes ready to record the heartbeats to the computer. At first we both tried and couldn't find the heartbeats. We weren't worried because we realized we both had no idea what we were doing. Brian decided to try it again and as soon as he put the scanner thing on my tummy we heard Baby A, beating away. We listened to her (we call her a her because she is the still, steady baby) for a minute or two and set in to find Baby B. He was a little tougher to find and to keep monitoring. He is the little mover and shaker. Even my sister, who knows what she is doing, has a hard time keeping a hold of him.

Not only is it exciting to hear them, but I also like to know where they are. It is now to the point that I can point out almost exactly where they will be. I am now very excited for the next big milestone, to feel movement! On Christmas my sister explained that with two babies I might start to feel movement any time now. I am so looking forward to that.

I can't wait for you to start feeling movement as well. It's such an amazing feeling. Glad that you could find the HB's w/ the doppler. I know how reassuring it was for us to have ours.

I knew you'd cave on the doppler, it's just a matter of time! Fun to be able to listen whenever you want too.

I bet you feel something soon, but you may not recognize it yet. I swear I'm already feeling little flutters and bubbles at almost 13wks. Last time the placenta was anterior, so that blocked a lot of it until later, this time, s/he is tucked up nice and high, so I think that's partly why I'm feeling things so early.

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
