Ultrasound #5

We had our fifth ultrasound today and it was absolutely amazing. At first I was scared half to death because the ultrasound tech and Bry could both see the screen. They were both very quietly looking at the screen. I was watching Brian's face and he started looking at the tech for some reaction. So I start thinking that something is wrong. Well it turns out that he just couldn't make out the heartbeats himself and got scared. Then he had a huge sense of relief when Baby B decided to start dancing and flipping around. He had his little hand over his face and was kicking his legs all over. Baby A was a little more quiet, but kicking and squirming too.

I didn't get to see the whole "show", but Brian did. I could see a look of amazement on his face. When they turned to show me the screen it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. They were moving and kicking like little tiny people. When I moved they got irritated and moved more. When I coughed they danced like mad. Baby B had his hands up by the head and was moving them all around. Once I saw all of this I started to cry. It just made it all feel so real. Two weeks ago they were motionless blobs. Now they are little people that are living and moving.

It was amazing.

I am so so so happy for you that you're finally able to experience what hopefully will be just the tip of the joyfilled iceberg of motherhood. Technology is an amazing thing, sometimes almost surreal. Hopefully the positive u/s put some of your fears to rest.

We also had our fourth or fifth ultrasound today...amazing. (We're at about the same stage as you with just one baby, but still amazing!) I'm glad you were reassured. So was I!

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
