Today will be a very busy Saturday for Brian and I. We have been holding off on our childbirth class because Bry's work schedule has been nutty. We decided to sign up for an all day class and today is our big day. It lasts from 9 am until 3pm, which will be an insanely long day for me. During that time we will also have a tour of the Labor & Delivery wing, which will be nice. Hopefully they have fairly confortable seats and a GD friendly lunch.
While on the topic of diabetes I have been doing fairly well. Today my levels were 100 (am fasting), 100 (2hrs after breakfast), 106 (after lunch) and 126 (after dinner). The only ones that were a little high were the morning test, which should be under 95 and the dinner one which needs to be under 130. I just skirted by, but I would like to stay in a safe zone. I did a shopping trip to Wegmans this afternoon and bought plenty of low carb, no sugar items so I don't starve. :>) I am very determined to do this without insulin (if possible).

Have fun at childbirth class. I was one of the few people that I have talked to that actually found the class useful. If it hadn't been for the breathing exercises, I think things would have been a lot different for me (& Bill). Take what you can from it. If you walk away learning one or 2 new things, then it was worth it!
The most useful part of ours was the tour of L&D at the hospital. But our class didn't go over breathing techniques or anything like that. Was just a general rundown of the different stages of labor, pain med options, medical interventions, etc.
hope the class was good. Not to scare you, but the fasting is usually the hardest to control with diet alone. They might try oral meds (glyburide/metformin) first and hopefully that would be enough. That was my hardest number to control last time. good luck!
