The Wall

It seems to me that I might have hit my pregnancy "wall." Up until now I really feel like I have been kicking this pregnancy's butt. With the exception of terrible early morning sickness and some aches and pains I have felt good, had decent energy and managed to keep a good routine. I thought that I would be on bed rest long before now. Well, 33 weeks must have been about all my body had in me to feel that good. This past week has been filled with hip and back pain, heartburn, lots of other aches, a hard time walking and the inability to stay on my feet for very long. I hate to sound whiney cause so far I think I have done particularly well, but carrying two babies around (and they are all balled up in the front) is a tough job. I guess it really is you body's way of making you very ready for them to be born, and that I am.

Sweetie, you have done a fantastic job so far of carrying those girls around! Don't ever discount yourself for that.

I'm sorry that the last week has been so rough. I'm sure it's the equivalent (if not more so) than what women experience at 38+ weeks with a singleton. Hopefully you can make it another two weeks and then those girls can come, bringing you some much needed relief from the ailments of pregnancy!

Yeah, that sucks...but you really HAVE been kicking pregnancy's butt - you're like a pro!

I can't tell you how much relief that I got from getting into a pool. Let the water hold the babies up for a good half hour or more. If you can't get in to a maternity suit, find a friend with a pool and go skinny dip. You will feel like such the earth mother!
You ARE kicking pregnancy's butt. Like a boxer who wins the title fight, you do still have to take a few blows to the head.
But - you still win!

About this blog

Over 8 years we have struggled through 3 IUI's, 6 rounds of IVF, several RE's, hundreds of appointments and the loss of three little angels. Now we find ourselves the proud parents of two perfect little girls and a wonderful little boy!!

Both of our girls struggle with some disabilities but that won't keep us down. Each day has it's own brand of insanity but we love it. Most days I am more monkey wrangler than mother but I do the best I can. Todays goal - getting to tomorrow.
