Things here are going really well. Abby is thriving now that she is at home. She is so much more alert and healthy looking without the monitors and beeping of the NICU. The girls seem so happy and content to be together. They spend their days sitting together in their glider chair and their nights swaddled next to each other in their cribs. We have them pretty close on schedule but Gracie would go longer between eating if we let her. We went to the pediatrician today and the girls are gaining weight like crazy. Abby is up to 5lb 4oz and Gracie is up to 6lb 4oz. Everything else looked great.
We are getting some sleep, although not a ton. The girls are really good but Gracie can be pretty fussy at night. I am still patiently (well mostly patiently) waiting for my milk to come in fully. I nurse the girls before they take their bottle and I pump in between. The doc thought that the milk was not coming in b/c of the stress of being in the NICU. I am not sure if that is the case. I have been waiting for my supply to increase but it isn't. I go to the OB tomorrow so I am hoping she might have some tricks. I have been eating, drinking, trying to rest and still only a little milk. I am not ready to give up, but man is it frustrating.

Do you have a manual or electric pump? Having a manual one makes a huge difference. One of the things that really helped me was to massage the area while I pumped... it also kept my ducts from getting clogged.
So glad to hear the girls are doing well at home. That must just feel great. (((hugs)))
Hi there! Congrats on having BOTH girls home is such a reasonable amount of time! I'm glad to hear both girls are thriving so nicely!
When I had the twins, I used something called More Milk Plus from this website http://www.motherlove.com/products_extracts.php
I found it to be incredibly helpful with boosting my supply. I willt ell you though it is the FOULEST tasting stuff ever invented. BUT it worked... So thats my suggestion! Good Luck!
I was going to recommend the More Milk Plus for mommy's with twins. I've been drinking the Mother's Milk Tea b/c of some supply issues lately.
They say that water/fluid intake doesn't affect your supply much (some new studies are out). But still, make sure to drink when you're thirsty. Eat as healthy as possible and try to get protein in. Oatmeal is good too.
Your doctor today might recommend a script to help. Reglan is what is commonly used here in the states. It won't affect the girls as it's given to babies for reflux issues, I think.
Glad to hear the girls are doing well. I'm sure having them on a similar routine helps tremendously!
I second eating oatmeal for supply issues. It really helped me. Also, I know with twins this may be impossibel, but REST! Your body needs lots of energy to make enough milk for two babies.
I am so glad the girls are doing well. You sound so happy.
Good luck with your milk coming in. It took me a while to get a good supply, but it just took a while and pumping helped with me. I use an electric one.
I am so glad that everyone is at home together!
I LOVE the pic of the two of them together...they're just so beautiful and perfect!
The milk thing is so frustrating - you're doing everything you can do and no results. I 2nd what everyone else said - 1. a good pump makes all the difference; 2. a schedule makes a big difference, i.e. nursing every 90 minutes on both sides; 3. drink a TON of water and eat a well balanced diet; 4. minimize stress, hahaha; 5. I also remember hearing about Fenugreek (or something like that) a lot. It's a natural remedy I think and I ppl raved about it increasing their supply. Might want to ask about that at your appointment...
You guys are kickin' butt at this two-at-a-time shindig - my hat is off to you!
