For any Mom who has twins, there are some major essentials that you CANNOT live without. I thought I might list my faves for anyone who wants to know. :>)
- A few helpful people to lend extra hands!
- A sling or wrap. My fave is my Momma's Milk sling. It is super easy to put one baby in and you can easily bring it with you. I use it to sling one baby while carrying the other.
- The double snap-and-go stroller! I couldn't live without mine.
- A side-by-side stroller. Yes, you do need two strollers. The snap-and-go is great for keeping in the car for grocery shopping, the mall, Target, etc. The other stroller is great for walks or longer trips (zoo, beach, etc.).
- Wubba Nub Pacifiers. They are made by Baby Dagny (babydagny.com) and are soothie pacifiers with a little stuffed animal attached. I got them as a gift (thanks A & J) and I love them. They help keep the paci in place.
- The Fisher Price Soothing Motions Glider. Abby LOVES it.
- Two high chairs. I bought Bumbo's and thought I might skip high chairs but my girls spend hours in theirs while I am working in the kitchen.
- A really, really, really well set up changing station. Must have a changing pad, diapers, wipes, lotions, balmex and anything else you use very close by.
If Nursing:
- The double nursing pillow. I used mine to nurse tandem (while I nursed) and the Boppy just didn't cut it.
- A GOOD pump to increase your supply.
- Make sure you still have formula and bottles just in case. I was DEFINITELY going to nurse and that just didn't work out. You never do know.
- Back up flanges so you don't have to wash your pump parts all the time.
If Bottle Feeding:
- Two different kinds of bottles. For two reasons: 1) Chances are they will not like the first set and 2) it helps to tell whose bottles are whose if you need to give them different amounts or different formulas (like us).
- A good bottle warmer
- A microwave sterilizer
- A decent bottle brush (don't cheap out)
