We have decided that we needed to sleep train Gracie and so far (and mind you, it is only day one) it is a very rough road. She used to be our good sleeper but for the last 3 or 4 weeks she has been waking between 5 and 10 times a night. She just wants her pacie and doesn't need to be picked up most of the time but it is way too much. None of us are getting any sleep and she (and I) are miserable during the day. We are trying to do the Cry It Out (CIO) method and it is not easy for me to listen to her cry. She went to bed tonight at 8:30 and fell right to sleep. She started bawling at a little after 10:15 and it continued til after 11. I cried for about 3/4 of that time. We are supposed to just let her cry and learn to soother herself. I know it sounds kind of harsh but as a person with very poor sleep habits it is so important to me that the girls learn good sleeping habits. I have this great book, Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby and it is very down to earth. I am trying to use it as a sort of guide so that I don't get tired and weak. We'll have to see if I have the stomach for this method.
On the RSV/cold front the girls are doing really well. The noses are snotty and coughs are aplenty but they seem to be feeling better and better every day. Abby still has a slight fever so we are keeping her indoors for now. I am so sick of staring at these walls I could burst. I am just so freaking ready for Spring and warm weather.
