Today was another trying day in our house. We started off the day early when our case worked from Early Intervention came to go over our financials for services. Luckily we get her PT for free. Then at 11: 30 we had our 9 month pediatrician appointment today and, as usual, the hits keep on coming.
Gracie has pneumonia from aspirating (due to relux). She must have puked and breathed some of it into her lungs because she is raspy and chokey. She is on a terrible tasting antibiotic that she won't take. It took me several hours, 3 pharmacies and $40 and I think we are going to have to get her something else. She also has to now take Reglan and Zantac to try to keep her from aspirating again. If the reflux doesn't clear up in a month she will have to go to a Gastro doc for an upper GI series.
Abby has double ear infections which explains her lack of eating. They also suspect she has developmental dysplasia of the hip so she needs to have an x-ray on Thursday. She has an extra fold in one side of her bottom and her one butt cheek is lower than the other. Our new physical therapist noticed it and didn't think it was much but our pedi seemed more concerned. She thinks we will probably need to see an orthopedist at CHOP. On top of that we now have to see an audiologist for a hearing screen and an allergist for a suspected milk allergist. I think the kid is up to like 7 specialists now. (Let's see: neurology, neurosurgery, neuro-ophthalmologist, ophthalmology surgeon, physical therapist, allergist, audiologist and possibly an orthopedist. Nope, I was wrong... 8 specialists.)
Abby weighed in at a scant 15lb 0.4oz (still < 5th percentile) and 25 1/2 inches. Gracie is a little bigger at 17lbs and 27 inches. I have a couple of itty bitty little girls.
Tomorrow morning EI comes out again to create goals for Abby's PT.

Abby seems to have crossed eyes. Could yo blog about that? Perhaps you have already, and I missed it.
How does that fit into her care?
