Today we did get the x-ray done for Abby's hip. We won't know the results until Monday morning. We're keeping our fingers crossed that the problems with her alignment are a fluke. Guess we'll see about that.
We went to the audiologist this morning and that was a semi-disaster. As expected she had fluid in both ears and they think she may have ruptured her ear drum (she has a little drainage). We had these two really young audiologists who I wasn't terribly fond of. They were a little inpatient when Abs tried to pull the stupid fluid measuring thingy out of her ears. The ear bud was too big for her tiny head so they squashed them in there. At that point she was her "doctors office" self which is a very pissed off version of the Abby I know and love. Even though she was mad and already fussing they proceeded with the hearing portion of the test. They put her and I in a sound room and told me not to talk, move her or console her. By the time they started the noises she was screaming. Of course she didn't look towards any of the speakers because she was screaming at the top of her lungs. I was in the damn room and could hardly hear them.
So they said her hearing and speech were behind (and how the hell can they tell that from her sitting and screaming???). They were concerned about her motor and the high levels of fluid so they are referring us to an ENT doc for probable tubes. So that makes specialist number 9 in our lineup.
I think we have too many players on the field at this point.

I'm sorry about the audiologist appointment today. Hopefully some of what happened can be explained to the ENT (although I'm sure you don't look forward to that appointment) and he can redo some of the testing, in a more appropriate setting.
((hugs)) to Abs. I can't imagine how the poor things feels when she enters the waiting room of a doctor's office.
Hey Kris,
Take her to the audiologist at my clinic....she is really great with kids. You might have a different outcome. Pinelands Speech and Hearing Clinic...right near your mom's house.
Love, Stace
