Vacation

Our family vacation can not come soon enough. Having an end of summer vacation is wonderful and terrible. The great part is that as all your friends finish their vacations you know yours is still upcoming. The yucky part is that you have to wait and wait and wait for the end of August to roll around.

Vacation last year was difficult. The girls were 9 weeks old. I was 9 weeks post c-section and not healing that great. We weren’t sleeping much. And trying to maneuver at the beach or on the boardwalk was difficult. This year I am jumping out of my skin to get there. First of all, my kids are big enough that they can enjoy the beach, the rides and the boardwalk. There will be some difficulties but none as big as sleeping in 30 minute increments (like last year). Second, my parents, siblings and grandparents will be around so I get to spend lots of time with them all. The BEST part for me is all the extra hands. They all love feeding, changing, bathing, holding, etc. As a mom of twins I get my fair share of these things. Being the kind person that I am, I am willing to “allow” people to feed, hold, bath or change when they so wish. ;>) Having all the extra people around means I might be able to take a 10 minute shower, read something longer than my shampoo bottle, take a walk without someone attached to my back or even pee in peace. Yes, it is going to be a fine vacation indeed!
