The other day I was filling the girls Snack Traps (little snack cup things) with Cheerios in the midst of cooking dinner and trying to fill out some paperwork. Abby was across the room and Gracie was standing right at the gate of the kitchen watching me and waiting for her snack. I handed her both cups and asked her to give one to Abby. I wasn't serious, I thought at 15 months there is no way in heck she would know what the hell I was talking about. Sure enough, she walked right to Abby, handed her hers, smiled at me and went on playing. I made a bit of a fuss to reward her positive behavior but I still thought it was a fluke.
The next day, while the girls were playing Abby took off her helmet, hit her head and started to scream hysterically. I picked her up and tried to comfort her. I said to Gracie "I bet Abby's cuppy would make her feel better". She looked around, found the cup, gave it to Abby, patted Abby and smiled at me. So I made an even bigger fuss. Ever since when I fill cups or snack traps I hand both to Gracie and she marches one right over to Abby. I am just amazed at how kind and caring twins can be for one another. We sometimes tease Gracie that it's a good thing she's so beautiful because she can be a dunce (ie: jumping off high things, climbing places she shouldn't, etc.) but the kid is showing some real signs of her mothers intelligence. ;>)

Awe! How sweet! My daughter just turned three and it still amazes me on how much she understands and knows to do. She loves doing favors - putting away her folded clothes, putting away her plastic silverware, helping pick up around the house... This little creature that I helped create sure is turning out pretty darn good and it warms my heart! It's so special that you have two that are learning to look after each other! How wonderful!
