I joke frequently about my "OCD". I obviously do not have a true, clinical case of OCD (I have no delusions about what happens if I don't fulfill my compulsions) but I have some strong tendencies. Let's just say that living with me can sometimes be a treat for my less orderly husband. In our house everything has a home. And I mean EVERYTHING. Shoes go somewhere, coats go somewhere and toys all go somewhere.
A couple months back I noticed that Gracie would occasionally take shoes left out and throw them over the gate (where they belong). At night, when I change the girls into jammies, I often throw the clothes in a pile by the gate near their room and pick them all up when I am done. About a month ago Gracie starting taking that little pile and hiking it over the gate. Over the past month the poor kid has grown more obsessive about things being "right." When we get in the house and I take my shoes off she immediately brings me my slippers. If clothes or a diaper is sitting on the floor she will throw them over the gate near her room. I am starting to wonder if the poor kid has inherited my OCD tendencies. Poor kid will be subjected to a life of things never feeling clean enough or organized enough.
