It feels like ages since I did a general update. The girls are 18 months on Saturday so I will give a full update then. It feels like so much of the time I am reporting on the things Abby is behind on. I think it's time to toot her horn for a minute. This kid is talking up a storm. About three or four weeks ago she started to say "hi" and "bye" non-stop. She did this for about 5 days and then started adding words to her repertoire. She started saying "momma" and "Grace". Then she started adding words every day. Now the kid is saying "my momma", "sissy", "daddy", "banana", "more", "Genna", "Will-Will", "Jay-jay", "Poppa" and so on and so on. And anything she can't say (like honey, please, thank you) she continues to sign. We kind of hoped that with her motor delays she might excel in other areas. Thank goodness she is.
As for Gracie she still isn't talking... at all. Since we have EI here each week we have someone who can keep an eye on her progress as well as Abby's. She does sign "more", "please", "food" and "baba" but nothing spoken yet. She and Abby do communicate in their own language and she points for everything she wants. She also follows directions VERY well so we know her hearing is ok (and they have both been hearing tested). So for now we wait and she when and what she wants to talk about. :D
