For those of you who are following the house drama, read on. You probably remember that the sellers and their agent were complete pains in the butt when we were negotiating. Well now we have come to find out that not only did they never probate the original will but they also never clearer the title when the last owner moved in. It is a long story but out house has passed through two generations of residents and it is the third generation who is selling the house. So now, is seems, that our closing date of this Friday was a joke. It could be March or even April before we close on the house. We're unending frustrated at this point but what the heck are we going to do? We could saw screw the deal but we really do want the house. It just figures that they were so rush, rush and such jerks and now we're the ones with the power. Lucky for them we're not the types to take advantage. We just want our house... sooner rather than later.
We should know more later on today or tomorrow.

You could either take it as a sign that this isn't the house for you or you can make...them...pay. Sometimes it's ok to take a little advantage of a particular predicament, especially one the people put themselves in. You should ask for compensation for your troubles.
I agree with previous poster. This is not right of the homeowners and you deserve compensation of some sort. Closings are delayed all the time, but if there was something in the contract that they violated, I would demand that they compensate for your troubles.
On the bright side, it is much better to move in the springtime! And you get a few extra months to enjoy being the home that will always be your daughters' first home (that they won't remember!)
We anons need to come up with new names to avoid confusion!
I agree about the names. Can you sign your posts with an initial maybe? Even if it isn't your actual one. I don't mind anon. posts but a tired mind gets easily confused. :D
Our new realtor (since our old one quit) is going to work out some sort of schedule that if closing goes past a certain date (and we'll make it as early as possible) they have to day X amount of dollars per say. We are also asking for them to pay penalties on delaying our mortgage and fix the roof and squirrel problem. If these people weren't such jerks to begin with I might have been a little nicer but they weren't so I'm going to get what I can get. KWIM?
Good for you!
I'll sign my post "anon J" until I work up the courage to stop with this crazy anon thing! That should make it a little clearer!
