We had a terrific day yesterday. We spent two hours at the pool. The girls did awesome. Gracie fell in the water and proceeded to float and kick her legs until getting fished out. It didn't scare her one bit.
After nap we had a nice picnic dinner at my parents with the whole immediate family (minus my brother) and my cousins Ashleigh and Maeve. After dinner we set off to the fireworks which is more like a big carnival in our town. Rides, games, music, food and blankets full of people as far as the eye can see. The fireworks were supposed to start at 9 but didn't until almost 10. The girls bedtime is 8:30 so it was a miracle that they lasted. They were wild, but had a great time. When the fireworks started they were both a little scared but ended up loving it. We had to hold our hands over Gracie's ears and squeeze her tight and hold Abby very snuggly (key for a kid with sensory issues when there are loud noises).
The girls didn't go to bed until 11pm, latest bedtime ever for them.
It was a very nice day.
