Two weeks ago in OT we discovered an amazing source of input for Gracie... BEANS! Nicole brought a container full of dry beans. Gracie spent the next hour and half playing with them, touching them, scooping them and generally making a mess. When Nicole had to leave Gracie had the mother of all meltdowns. This sounds bad but it tells us that it is giving her sensory system something it needs. We went out that day and bought Grace her own bean bucket. Since then she has spent many hours playing in her beans. Unfortunately this is an activity that you cannot turn your back on when two children are involved:
