We went today to have another fitting for Abby's braces. We discovered that in order to avoid paying $600 for the braces we had to go to an orthotist at CHOP or Einstein. I found this place by calling the CHOP appointment hotline and explaining that I needed an orthotist at CHOP in order to get some coverage by insurance. The woman directed me to this orthotist and I made my appointment right away. When I went today I discovered that this was NOT a CHOP orthotist it is just who they primarily use. :( So it looks like we might be in a position to require a third fitting.
He took the measurements in hopes that for some reason they fall in our network but I am not optimistic. I was beside myself since Abby is so thoroughly traumatized by every person who touches her. I hate the thought of a THIRD round of the screaming and crying. It's like torture for both of us. So we are keeping our fingers crossed for a tiny miracle although not expecting one.
