My kids are HUGE fans of the Backyardigans.
If we allowed Abby I am ashamed to say that she would probably watch about 15 hours of the Backyardigans a day. We cut her off generally after a few episodes a day but that isn't easy. Over the past couple years we have been collecting the Ty toys.
This past week Abby finally realized that we had all of the toys except Austin. He is probably her favorite so I am not sure how I got away with this for so long.
(This is the face they make when I tell them to look sad for the camera :D).
One day this week we didn't have anything to do so after nap I told the girls that we were "going on a hunt" for Austin (anyone else have the Rocketship Run CD?). First we tried the mall.
But no Austin. Then we tried Walmart.
Again, no Austin. We went home and ate dinner and after dinner we set back out for one more stop. Brian and I took the girls to Buy Buy Baby and to all of our elation. THEY HAD AUSTIN!
Now here's the thing. I personally vowed to myself that I would never be one of those Moms who searched from store to store for one stupid toys (I am personally ribbing myself for my lack of never say never attitude on this one). Honestly I think it was more about the hunt for me. Sometimes it's boring being home all day. Sometimes I have to infuse some sense of adventure into our life or we'd all be bored stiff. So as much as I never intended to go traipsing from store to store it was kind of fun for the three of us.
Plus, can they get any cuter and happier than this:
**As an aside, I hope I am not driving my four-ish loyal readers nuts with my picture ridden stories. I have been a little camera happy lately.
