I don't know about you but in the warmer months we spend the bulk of our time outside. Whether we are just hanging in our front yard or taking a long walk or going to the pool you can usually find us outside. Some days the girls really want to be outside all day and other times they would rather be in front of the TV but like my mother I don't give them much choice.
What shocks me is how few other kids are outside when we are. We live in a neighborhood with tons of kids from babies to big kids. Many of the big kids spend a lot of time outside riding bikes or hanging out with their friends. It is appalling how little we see other little kids playing outside. I often think to myself what exactly do people have inside that keeps their kids that busy? When we spend too much time indoors I find my kids are ready to swing from the rafters with boredom. What are people doing with their toddlers all day??? And why the heck aren't parents turning off their tv's and getting outside?

That seems strange to me too! Even though it's only April (which is BARELY spring up here!) we're outside with the boys all the time when we're home, and on work days, our daycare provider takes them out every day. My mom was the same way: "get outside, it's so nice!" I figure there's plenty of time for being stuck inside during the winter. (And really, we're outside then too, when it's not too cold!) :)
My Mom had the same "get outside" attitude. If it wasn't raining or snowing, we were outside... where we BELONGED! :D
