We have made the decision to keep the girls together in school. For a few reasons. First because it will be helpful for us to only have to get to know one set of teachers, aides, rules, procedures, etc. That is a big reason for me. Second, because in spite of the fact that schools feel the research shows that twins do better separated the research still shows that twins who stay together in early years have an easier time forming attachments. The final reason is my gut tells me they should be together. I have learned over the course of my life that when your gut tells you something you really, really need to listen to it. So that is what we are going to do. I know that the child study team won't be thrilled by the decision but I have to keep in mind that I know what is best for my kids NOT THEM. They don't even know them yet. In kindergarten or 1st grade when they have gotten to know them and our family them I feel like they can chime in. Until then I have to rely on my instinct as their mom.
