For most people the 4th of July is a fun weekend full of food and fireworks. For us it tends to be a bit of a struggle. Gracie hates loud noises... with a passion. Thunder scares her so much she shakes (even with headphones or earplugs). A loud noise in the store makes her jump out of her skin. The starter gun at track meets puts her into a tizzy. So here we are on the weekend of fireworks all around us. We are praying that earplugs and/or headphones will allow us to enjoy the fireworks display our town puts on. (It is a truly wonderful show.) Our bigger conundrum is all of the fireworks that people set off throughout the weekend. Last year we spent two night straight with a kid ready to jump out of her skin. Here we are a year later and her fear of loud noises has gotten significantly worse. I guess we'll see... this could be interesting.

I hope she does okay. The 4th for us isn't much of a "party" either. I hope you guys can enjoy it!
