I have gone on and on lately about everything we are dealing with about Abby. I feel like it has been a while since I posted much about Grace. When you parent more than one child I think you always have a series of ebbs and flows. You get so busy dealing with one issue that while your back was turned your other child has found themselves into a difficult stage. A never ending cycle.
Thankfully Grace is in a fairly "easy" stage right now. Mind you that "easy" for Grace still involves growling, yelling, the occasional hitting spell, sensory seeking and other things but she has been fairly "stable". She is doing great at school. She is "the boss" in her classroom. She is learning so much it blows my mind. She is getting so darn grown up I could just cry somedays. She has turned into little miss independent. She can dress herself, put on her shoes and socks, puts on her coat, hat and gloves. She clears her plate at dinner, helps empty the dishwasher, folds laundry... she is my little helper.
It's funny how one day you wake up and you look at your child and every little bit of "baby" that was left disappears, overnight. That recently happened with Grace. I suppose when she is sleeping she still looks like a sweet baby but she is a girl now. Makes me a little sad.
Right now she is working on her ability to follow directions and rules. She struggles with anything too abstract (she is very black and white) so it can be a challenge. Transitions are still very hard for her (going from one activity to another) both at home and at school but we work on that. The time timer helps us transition a little better.
She is turning out to be quite the amazing little girl. I'm sure she will give us a run for our money but I like a kid with spunk. :D
