I love to write... can you tell. If I had more time I think my blog would become out of hand. I would write about the color of the sky as I drove home or something that happened in the grocery store. Putting my life down on "paper" is a cathartic experience for me. I feel like I can work through my stressors and anxieties by writing about them.
Since I was in high school and realized how much I liked writing one of the things highest on my "bucket list" is write a book. I have started and abandoned probably 15 books over the past 15 years. I think many "wannabe" writers have this same experience. You get this great idea, you jump on it, the fire fizzles out and so does your idea. I have done this over and over and over. It gets frustrating. It makes it hard to ever get truly inspired.
Recently I have been thinking about my "writing" again and made some attempts to get myself inspired. In the past couple weeks I have started writing more formally and actually putting myself out there and submitting my work. I am so excited to say that I won second place in a writing contest on a writing blog (check her out, her blog is called inrandom) and have been invited to contribute to another blog (again, will share details soon).
It feels fantastic to be writing for something more than just myself. Oddly fun. :D
Click here for the link to my submission for the writing contest. I have a feeling it will be familiar to my blog readers as it started as a blog post. :D
