There is something so wonderful to be found in those rare, small quiet moments. The ones when the dishwasher is done running and the washing machine is in between loads and the television is quiet and the children are sleeping. They never last very long and we miss many of them. But if you catch one of them it is like a rare jewel. You HAVE to stop and catch it. You have to at least acknowledge the rarity and beauty of it and stop to catch your breath... because in five minutes the kids will wake up and the dryer will need wet clothes and the neighborhood kids will walk by loudly.
Maybe some day I will get that peace in longer spurts. For now I am content to enjoy the small moments.
