Shocker

The other night the girls and I were sitting down to dinner and one of them was complaining that they couldn't bring an iPod to the table. I started in on a typical mother rant about how when I was a little girl no one even had an iPod. Grace responded with a shocked "YOU DIDN'T????" I almost fell on the floor laughing from the response.

I went on to list all of the things that didn't exist (at least to the public) when I was little; computers, iPods, CD's, cell phones, internet, laptops, MP3's... they almost fell down. Their eyes were so wide and both of their mouths were wide open. I was so surprised at their complete disbelief of a life before electronics.

Made me feel a little old (and like my parents) to have that conversation but it sure gives some perspective on how much the world has changed.
