Today was my first OB appointment. Before I see the doctor I had an appointment with one of the nurse practitioners. We went through my history (which took forever ;D), talked about what has happened so far in this pregnancy, then did an exam. She tried to get the heartbeat on an old ultrasound machine abdominally but the baby wasn't big enough to be picked up. It made me a little nervous that she didn't see much at all. She switched to transvaginal (sorry for TMI) and after about three (long, scary) minutes she found the heartbeat. She did a "quick and dirty" CRL measurement and according to that (which she cautioned me was an estimate) the baby is measuring somewhere around 9 weeks 3 days. I am 10 weeks 1 day today so if that measurement was accurate it would be a good sign. The sac still looks small but we'll have more precise measurements on Wednesday at my weekly ultrasound.
So for now I am under the care of both the OB and the IVF clinic. I will be very glad when I officially graduate to JUST the OB. :D
