Today I met with my high risk doc and had a growth scan. The appointment was good overall but there were some high points and some lower points. I'll start with the good.
- My fluid levels looked perfect. With the girls this was an issue (and not related to having twins).
- Blood pressure still looked good.
- Heartbeat was perfect at 130 bpm.
- Baby looked good and active.
The down side was that he is still pretty tiny. At the last scan he was in the 15-20th percentile and he is now down in the 12th at 4lb 2 oz. The doc said they don't get concerned about placental issues until you are below the 10th percentile. Since the girls were so small at birth (Abby was 4.14 which was below the 5th percentile and Grace was 5.14 which was also below the 5th) the doc figures I must just make small babies.
Because he is so low the OB will be keeping an eye (mostly through NST's) to make sure there is no break down in the function of the placenta. So I am being transferred back to the OB and not the High risk doc. With only 5 1/2 weeks to go they wouldn't do another growth scan so there isn't much more they can do for me. Guess that means one less doc to see. :D
So a little under six weeks and I'll be done with this part!
