I am happy to report that we survived the fireworks! We took all six kids a little bit under duress. It was in the high 90's and Jack was not having a great day. I didn't want the five older kids to get slighted because we have a new baby so we came up with a plan to stay near the car (so he could sit in the a/c if needed) and still get to go to the town fireworks display/carnival. Thankfully all the kids did great.
(We went through about ten packs of glow sticks)
Jack had a fussy spell before the fireworks started but once they went off he was in awe. The noise didn't bother him at all (and we were super close) and he LOVED the colors. The girls did great and barely complained about the heat or being tired. The boys did their usual amount of bickering but they had fun too. Genna was good enough to sit with us at the end of the night so we could all watch the fireworks together!
By the end of the night we were all hot and tired but overall happy kids. The best part of the story is that ALL the kids slept in the next day!
