The week before we left for vacation the kids had a chance to participate in a local track meet. It was open to all ages so all of the kids competed. Jordan (who will be long jumping and high jumping in the JUNIOR OLYMPICS this week!!!!) saw this as an opportunity for more practice. Will went to have fun. Abby was nervous but looked forward to it and Grace saw it as her time to shine. :D
Will, Jordan and Grace did running events, hurdles, the javelin and the long jump. Abby was only willing to long jump for fear of falling or losing. (We were insanely proud that she did jump since it was hard for her!) Jordan also did the high jump.
Jordan won every event he competed in (big shock!) as did Will. Abby came in fourth in long jump (she actually beat someone) and Grace won 3/4 of her events. They all had a great time and got some good exercise so it was a win-win.
