When I think about the things I cherish most as a Mom the first thing that comes to mind are the big things... first smiles, first days of school, major milestones, "I Love You"'s...
But in reality the things I love most about being a Mom are the little random moments. The smile when they turn around as they get on the bus. The little ear mark I have on my arm after I feed Jack. When they say things like "Mom I'm not MOTIVATED to do that today" (I loves me the big words ;D).
The way Abby has to accessorize every single outfit. The way Grace wants to look "boyish" but insists on keeping her hair long and "shiny". The way they giggle when they get silly.
It's those little moments that I will miss the most when they are older. I might miss the big milestones once in a while but I think I will miss holding their hands, seeing them smile, helping them brush their teeth, hearing an unsolicited compliment. Those are little moments that flee once they pass.
It makes me a little sad but it also reminds me to capture them as they happen.
