I try to schedule our annual and semi-annual specialists visits in blocks. It makes it easier to call in referrals and schedule time off of school. This week (and next) is one of those weeks. Tomorrow both girls see the allergist. Grace needs and asthma check in and since she had an ear infection last week (one tube is out and the other is falling out) we will talk about whether or not we need to see ENT. Abby has to have the next block of tree nut skin testing and probably blood-work for her existing allergies.
Wednesday we see cardiology for Abby. At her last well visit the pedi had some concerns over her heart murmur. Since there have been RS kids with cardia involvement he wanted her to get a full work-up. So she will have an echo, ekg and a Holter. I am guessing that one will be an all day event.
I couldn't get all three in one week but the following week is a teeth cleaning for the girls. More fun...
I never know if "blocking" appointments is the best day. Doing skin testing, blood-work, ekg, echo and the holter monitor all in 2 days is a lot for Abby. That being said isn't it better to get it all over with at once. Not sure but it's the theory I am working under. :D
