First Team Track Meet

A couple of weeks ago my babies had their first team track meet. The have participated in a local track meet for fun a couple of times but this was the real deal. They trained and practiced and got ready. 

There were uniforms and water bottles and start times. (Grace is in lane 3 with her hands over her head.)

We even had some first meet jitters. 

We (politely) had to ask our coach to split up frick and frack because frack (Grace) kept stopping mid-race to make sure Abby was okay. While it's incredibly sweet we wanted them each to get a chance to run their own race. 

Abs was so ready it was hysterical. She was determined to "beat someone". 

And. She. Did!

We were so proud of her. Not that she beat someone (although that was kinda nice since she was the kid who wasn't supposed to walk) but because she did it and finished it. 

They both LOVE the long jump. I think it's because they get to run as fast as they can and jump right into the sand pit we always ask them to stay out of.

Grace is getting really good at it!

It's also nice that they get to do this together. They all get to be a part of the same team. They have been watching Jordan do this for years and years and now they don't have to stand on the sideline. They get to be a part of it.
