What is the deal with these school supplies???
We live in a suburban area. Some people have lots of money. Some don't. Most of us are in the middle living with what we have and staying in our means if we can. So when I got the school supply list that totaled over $150 per child I was floored. Thankfully I am a sale shopper and that helps. And thankfully I have all summer to accumulate the stuff we need but come on? Is it all necessary?
Folders that are plastic, with holes in certain colors. Dry erase markers that are low odor, thin AND must be an 8 pack. Six glue sticks that MUST be 0.66 ounces each. Seriously? Is this a scavenger hunt or back to school shopping???
Top it off with the fact that we pay our fair share in taxes here in Southern NJ so are we not paying for tissues and hand sanitizer with that money?
I know, I know... I probably sound like such a cheapskate but it's ridiculous. I guess the days of a back pack and some crayons is long gone.

I picked up KT's list yesterday and had to shake my head. The precise details of stuff is absurd. And each kid needs to bring in 12 glue slicks? 12??!! It's not like they send the extra stuff home if they don't use it.
:/
M - And I thought 6 glue sticks a piece was a lot!
You're the best
