We couldn't manage to get ourselves together this year in terms of having a birthday party for the girls. We knew that this would be the year we had the girls first official (not only family) party. But finding a venue that suited both of them was tricky. When our neighbor offered us a suite at a minor league baseball game we jumped on it. We had a $600 executive suite all to ourselves and 25 tickets to play with. Abby lucked out in that her two best friends were both in!
Grace was not so lucky. Of her top 3 choices of friends two couldn't make it. She was a trooper about it but I knew she was disappointed.
So Wednesday night (almost 2 months late to the day) we hosted their first real birthday party. The suite was beautiful and we ordered food so I had very little to do. Grace was devastated that her best friend didn't make it to the party (she is still not a happy camper) but she made due. It was a really fun night... a little nuts with 8 kids in one suite, but fun.
All of the parents were people who we really enjoy (that was intentional) so we had a great time too.
It turned out to be a really nice night.
**This one cracked me up. After sugar and food coloring and being up late this is pretty accurate for grace. Red eyes and all.
