I am so pleased to say that we had a peaceful, quiet and laid back Christmas. This doesn't happen very often being in a big family but this was one of the lowest key Christmases in a very long time.
Christmas Eve was nice. We enjoyed a quiet day and went to a lovely service at our church. We sat next to a lovely older couple who just about wanted to take Abby home with them. (During the Our Father she grabbed this womans hand, looked at her, smiled and went right on with her prayer. The little old lady looked like she wanted to melt). After church we went to my parents and spent the evening with my immediate family and my Aunt and Uncle who came to visit.
We got the kiddo's to bed at a fairly reasonable hour so Santa could come. For the first time since the girls were born we asked Santa to leave our presents at our house (usually they go to Honey and Poppa's house).
The kids got everything on their wish list (and then some). Best of all they were very happy and VERY appreciate of all of the gifts they received. They even managed to keep in site the purpose of the holiday.
My Mom and I cooked dinner and everything came out perfectly. I did have to sit at the kiddie table but it ended up being a quiet place to enjoy the meal.
While there is a sense of relief that it's over it's also just a little sad. It's crazy doing all the prep but so very much fun planning for such a wonderful day.
Merry Christmas and a very happy 2014 to all!
*** My camera is deciding not to let me download any of my pics right now so I am stuck with my phone pictures at the moment.
